Matt has coached our son for quite some time now. His dedication towards his students improvement is second to none. As a beginner level surfer in my 30s and feeling like a lost cause, I was apprehensive about my capacity to improve, but when I approached Matt about coaching I knew I’d made the right decision.
Over the last 18 months, Matt has patiently broken down each aspect of surfing in a completely non judgemental way. His attention to detail has taught me the fundamentals of intermediate level surfing - I feel comfortable doing basic rail turns, taking off on steep waves and paddling out in bigger swell. I am now confident to select the right board, to push myself on more critical sections and even judge at local surfing competitions. My style and approach to surfing has improved far beyond my expectations.
